Nino Luraghi
Nino Luraghi joined °ÅÀÖ¶ÌÊÓƵ as Wykeham Professor of Ancient History in July, 2018. Trained in Italy, he held academic appointments at the Albert-Ludwigs-Universitat of Freiburg im Breisgau, at the Universita di Parma, at Harvard University, at the University of Toronto, and at Princeton University, where he was the Magie Professor of Classics until June 2018. As you can tell, he has been around for a while.
Nino is a historian whose curiosity goes well beyond his expertise, which is mostly confined to ancient Greece, from the Iron Age to the Roman Province of Achaia, with a focus on Greek historical thought and social history. He loves hiking in the mountains, although his climbing skills are no longer what they used to be. His main ambitions for the future include leaning Hebrew and losing weight, in no particular order.
